How these articles are made

Most articles on the Tempo blog were drafted with AI. Here is what that means, step by step.

An automated article went through five steps: a question from a list, a first draft by an AI model, a rule check by a script, a judgement by a second AI model, then publication, after which the founder could remove it.

What AI did

AI models helped write most articles and compare pages on this site. Between 21 September and 3 November 2026, an automated process published 23 articles: an AI model took a runner's question from a list and wrote the first draft.

What was checked before publishing

A script checked each automated draft against a written rule list covering unsupported numbers, hype words and promises. A second AI model, starting without the first model's reasoning, then judged the draft and could send it back. A draft that kept failing was not published.

Every paper listed under an article was checked on PubMed for title, journal and year. Each citation links to the PubMed record and, where PubMed lists one, to the paper's DOI, so you can read the source yourself.

What a person did

Tempo's founder set the rules and could edit the question list or remove any article after publication. A person did not read every automated article before it went live.

A few articles began as the founder's own writing in Dutch, and their English versions are translations of those Dutch originals.

What changed

The automated process was switched off on 3 November 2026. New articles now come from Tempo's founder.

If something here is wrong

The articles on this blog are general information about running, not medical advice. If an article gets something wrong, or a source does not say what the article claims, tell us through support and we will fix the article. The full list is on the blog index.
